My name is Kyle Gimple and I have been personally affected by holoprosencephaly, HPE. My cousin, Alexandra “Lexi” Gimple (2000-2004), was born with HPE and although she only lived for a short 4 and a half years, she touched more lives then most people do in a lifetime.  It is in her honor that I am trying to bring awareness to this relatively unknown disorder.

HPE is a rare brain malformation caused when an embryo’s forebrain fails to divide properly in very early pregnancy and does not distinctly form the left and right halves of the brain resulting in a wide range of cognitive and physical limitations.

I have been blessed with the unique ability to drive a race cars on a professional level and I am starting to break into the top series in this sport. This now allows me the opportunity to use the sport I love as a platform to help bring awareness to HPE by placing the Families for HoPE graphics on the side of my car.
